As a family of five that loves to travel, we try to find deals, so we travel more and have more money for activities like these. With so much to do in the Orlando United States of America, we have gone there several times, and we are sharing 5 best family hotels in Kissimmee Florida, so you, too, can make the most of your Orlando vacation.

Marriott’s Harbor Lake. 5 Best Hotel Deals for Family Travel in Orlando

We have stayed here multiple times, and it is our favorite place to stay when we are doing a variety of activities and are staying several nights. We usually try to stay on weekdays because it is twice cheaper (via Marriott Vacation Club points) than weekends. When you visit there, you don’t need any extra entertainment. When our kids went to school online, that was a perfect spot to study during the day, have a recess on the breaks, and full blast in the evening.

Why do we stay here?

  • we get great deals by renting from a time-share owner (he booked us by using his Marriott vacation club points)
  • This spacious two-bedroom suite is perfect for long stays. It has a well-equipped kitchen with cooking and baking utensils and a full-size refrigerator.
  • We love that they have a washer and drier within the unit.
  • It has two swimming pools
  • 2 water playgrounds
  • activities for kids of ages 2 and up
  • Fun activities throughout the day, such as art/craft projects, dance competitions, music trivia, scavenger hunts, dance shows, magic shows, and much more. Every time we go there is something new.
  • They have volleyball, basketball, tennis, and soccer field.
  • You also can borrow movies, puzzles, and board games for quiet evenings
  • They also have ping-pong, table soccer, and miniature golf
  • Very close major Orlando attractions (less than 5 minutes from Sea World, Discovery Cove, Aquatica)

Loews Sapphire Falls at Universal Studios

Our kids got hooked on Harry Potter, so naturally, we wanted the Harry Potter attractions at Universal. Knowing we can drive to Orlando multiple times a year, my husband calculated it was a good deal to buy seasonal passes (husband got preferred access for free parking) to Universal rather than purchasing them for each trip.

Plus, they had a promo where your passes would last 15 months, so we ended up going to Universal 3 separate trips with our pass and getting great value on this. One of the pleasant surprises was the restaurant and resort discounts that come with the season passes. If you check on their website, they usually have great deals for season pass holders for 3-6 months.

Loews Sapphire Falls was the most excellent resort near universal studios Orlando, with Express Passes included. Since we went at a low crowd, they were not a big deal. All the premium resorts with Express Passes were 2x expensive but comparable to the quality. Read more about the hotel and park tandem here.

Why did we stay there

  • Convenient. It takes only 2 minutes on a water boat to get from the hotel to the Universal City Walk. Great for beating the crowds to the parks.
  • We got 30% off with Universal Parks seasonal pass
  • Universal had a deal the kids would eat for free at the resort restaurant
  • spacious room
  • enormous swimming pool with heated water, perfect for afternoon breaks from crowds/heat

Legoland Hotel

Orlando has some of the best theme parks in the world. To make the most of your time at these parks, it often is worth staying on property. Our kids love Legos, and the Legoland Hotel is a fantastic way to experience Legoland. Read our recent hotel review and park visit here.

Why?

  • We got a 50% discount with black Friday special that also included tickets to the park for 2-days and some meals
  • It is very convenient (about 50 feet away from the park gate)
  • rooms fit up to 5 people (2 adults, 3 kids).
  • daily in-room treasure hunt with Lego souvenir

Melia Orlando Celebration Hotel

Without question, Disney World is the biggest and most magical attraction in Orlando (and perhaps the world). However, we found it challenging to find reasonably priced hotels in Orlando, Florida near Disney that would allow us to fully experience Disney (we wanted to see all four parks) while comfortably accommodating our family of five.

We could, however, find a great deal via Costco Travel (must be a Costco member) and had a great stay at Melia Orlando Celebration Hotel (here is a room tour), which was about 10 minutes away from Disney Parks. Our package included a five-night stay in a two-bedroom suite and four 5-day passes to Disney (our 2-year-old did not need a pass for the parks). We paid $2,800, which was several times cheaper than anything comparable on Disney’s properties.

Why did we choose the hotel?

  • Convenient to Disney (even had a daily free shuttle, but we drove and parked for flexibility reasons)
  • reasonably priced (accommodations, resort fees, tickets all included in the package from Costco)
  • complimentary breakfast
  • had a swimming pool
  • We got a $55 Costco gift card sent to us after our stay

Westgate Lakes Orlando

We often try to use multiple “deals” to extend trips. For our last Thanksgiving trip to Orlando, we came across a low-cost way to extend our journey via the site, BookVIP. We got a free 3-night stay at a spacious two-bedroom suite (here is the room tour video), which ended up working great as the kids did their virtual school. We had to sit through a timeshare pitch, but it was relatively painless and quick (~90 minutes).

Why did we stay there?

  • It was effectively almost free with a time-share presentation (we made a $350 deposit, but got $100 in restaurant coupons and a $200 MasterCard gift card after attending the time-share presentation)
  • the suite is spacious and fits 6 people
  • fully equipped kitchen,
  • In-room laundry station
  • Swimming pools and a hot tub

Four Points by Sheraton.

Here is the room tour.

Why did we stay there?

  • It was free for us because we used Marriot BonVoy credit card points. Point value was cheaper compared to other properties in the same area.
  • It was very close to Harbor Lake (next deal) and other Orlando attractions and allowed us to have an extra day to experience Orlando
  • One-bedroom suite was spacious enough to accommodate 6 people
  • Had a swimming pool

Tip. Most places run specials on Black Friday, so if you are already planning a vacation, keep your eyes open on that day, and you might cut your expenses in half.

So these are the best deals on the hotels we found in Orlando.
